I noticed that with a lot of my stories, (especially where Thierry is concerned), I just throw you guys into the action with little to no explanation...
Sorry about that.
I tend to get a little excited and just plow through the action of whatever story I'm writing.
So, today, I'd like to talk about Trigram Origins, what it is and why I'm doing them.
What is it?
Trigram Origins are a series of shorter stories that will tell the tales of some of my characters individually.
Thierry Adler, is my Warlock main character, who I lovingly call T-Cup. (He hates that shit by the way...) Anyway, he has the power to 'Pulse' to different dimensions. It's like teleportation, but not as useful = ).
Thierry is not great at spells or making spell balls (little marbles made out of glass that contain a spell. When you break the glass, the spell is activated.) Thierry isn't particularly good at magic at all. What is he good at?
Meh.
Being a smart ass, thinking and combat are his strong points. In my opinion, two of those things can save your life more often than magic... His only real magical ability is that he is a Traveler and he can Pulse at will (kinda).
He's getting better everyday. He learns new things about himself everyday. I'm writing Trigram Origins to help me find the inspiration and the strength to finish Trigram (the first book of my Trigram for Heaven Series)... Whew...
Here's my problem: the second book of this series is already out (Feud), and I've actually already written its sequel, (Alliance) last year.
Hopefully, one day, I'll get it all worked out and put in chronological order...
Trigram- The story of how Thierry found out that he was a Warlock and that he could Pulse.
Feud- The story of how Thierry gets cocky and picks a fight with a magician...
Alliance- Thierry's run in with a goddess. She covets his ability to Pulse, but for all her godly powers, that's one thing she can't do. She forces him to take her on a tour of the multiverse. With every Pulse, he gets another tick mark on his arm.(I'm seriously considering combining Feud and Alliance and renaming it Exxus...)
Onyx- Thierry finally gets away from Exxus (the crazy goddess I mentioned before) and has to find his way back home. (This is still in development).
Most of these stories are written already, but I think I could make them better. Call it a fear of publishing, or maybe I'm just stalling, but it's probably the most important thing in the world to me. (Aside from my mom and my dog...)
(Wink).
Being indecisive is more stressful than actually writing all of this stuff. So, with Trigram Origins, I intend to flesh out the world around Thierry a bit more and make changes accordingly before publishing my trilogy...
I've got about 800 pages of "um, I'm not really sure."
As Bobby Singer would say: "Balls"
It really is, Bobby. It really, really is.
So far, I've written two Trigram Origins stories: "Bitten" (which is weird and still needs work), and "Troll", which I posted yesterday...
I think Troll came out okay, but don't quote me on that... = )
