Everyday For A Month: Day 22

So at around 8 p.m., it occurred to me that I'd forgotten to write today's blog post. I am committed to blogging everyday for 30 days in a row, no matter what. (Lord willing)...

About 6 hours ago, I had this miraculous idea about something creepy falling from airplanes and wreaking havoc on a single woman's life (who just happens to live near the airport)😜. I haven't brought that idea completely to fruition yet, but as soon as I do, I promise to post it and creep you guys out.

Right now, my aunt has flown in from Illinois to visit. I'm super excited that she's here and I'm looking forward to hearing some scary stories she says she has to tell me. So this post is going to be a short one.

As far as my writing life is going, I'm working on a story that incorporates the Seven Gates of the Egyptian Underworld, also known as Duat.

The Duat story is weird and creepy. I would even say that it is "a different kind of writing all together". Something I've never written before, in a 'style/tone' I'm not used to. The character is odd, and as of right now he doesn't have a name. I'm not sure if I will even give him a name because I think for some reason, it may take away from the story. So right now, I'll just refer to him as X.

I'm excited to write X's story. Right now I'm planning seven stories, each one focusing on how he passes through each gate of the underworld. The story starts when he dies.

That's all I know for now!
Thanks for reading, you guys! I'll be back tomorrow, and hopefully it'll be with a story!

Boo yahhh!

A: You ruined it when you spoke out of turn.

T: Just hold me again.

A:

T: Just look at me again.

A:

T: ily. ttys.

Everyday For A Month: Day 9

Hi,
You may not know me, but my name is Thierry Adler. I'm a Warlock and my author is Avrin Kelly. She thinks I'm pretend.

*Chuckles*

Anyway, Avrin is one of those people that likes obsess over stupid shit---rather than doing what she should be doing, (preparing for the apocalypse), she's worried about writing a book. I can't entirely blame her, because that book is about me, and obviously my story needs to be told. But---- I suppose, if I could give her a few tips on writing about me and my world/life, they would be the following:

Everyday For A Month: Day 7

Wow! Day 7! I DID NOT THINK I WOULD GET THIS FAR!!!

I thought for sure I'd forget to post enough times in a row that the idea of blogging everyday for a month would be moot, but alas, here I am!

Everyday For A Month: Day 6

About My Missed Day:

Welp, I forgot to do Day 5. That blogging streak lasted a long time...

*Eye roll*

Rather than dwell on the fact that I have the memory of an eggplant, I'll just say that Day 5 would have been pretty funny if I'd have written a post about it. I went to a wedding. Got snockered and live tweeted it instead... 😊

Day 6:

Today I woke up at 5am and had this really strong urge to write. I haven't felt that way in a long time, so I think this daily blogging thing is working. I wish I could say that work on my novel(s) wasn't slow going, but I'd be lying if I told you I was writing five words and only deleting two of them per paragraph in "Trigram".

It's more like a 5:6 | write:delete ratio right now.

Everyday For A Month: Day 4

I'm still pretty happy that I'm going strong. Well, not as strong as I was going yesterday, but still. I'm here, that's gotta count for something right?! = )

I don't have much to share today, other than I've been thinking of a way to find other horror writers like myself.

Everyday For A Month: Day 3

Whew!

You guys, it's been a DAY, that's for sure! I did a lot of stuff that I'm super excited to talk about!!!
So, let's review.

I've set my mind to blog everyday for one month (30 days), whether I have something to say or not. Know what it's teaching me? To write what I want and not worry about whether people will read it or not. Or even if they will like it. I hope they do, but I definitely can't dwell on it if they don't (wink).

I know that sounds harsh (and it kind of is). But it's also freeing. A few surprises along the way were/ are:

1. I'm not as boring as I thought I was.
2. A lot of crap I read totes blows my mind on a regular basis.
3. I'm having a lot of fun!
4. I'm beginning to look forward to writing again...
*Gasp!*

Everyday For A Month: Day 2

Well, well, well... Look who made it to day 2!

My very own library card. A big deal for me,
because I haven't had one since I was a kid.
I'm feeling a bit better today. Not only did I FINALLY get a library card out here in Texas (yesterday), my local librarian, Angie, is awesome, bubbly and sweet. They even have a self checkout spot where you can rent out books when all of the people working behind the counter are busy.

This is a crappy photo, but you get the point...

Technology meets paperbacks--♡ it's a beautiful thing. For my books, I selected "A Perfect Blood" by Kim Harrison and "Black Widow" by Jennifer Estep. I'm looking forward to reading both of them (even though things have been crazy lately and I really don't have the time). They are part of a series, and I think I'll be reading them in the wrong order, but we'll see how it goes...

Everyday For A Month: Day 1

Journaling: some people say it's cathartic.

I'm inclined to agree, but I've never been able to journal without being self conscious. Am I doing it right? Why is this so embarrassing? Who the hell would want to read this? ( I don't even want to read this...) But, I digress.

I suppose the first step, when it comes to journaling, would be to think about what it is I want out of it. For me, journaling goals would be about my writing, working through plotting problems, highlighting the methods that work for me and shitcanning those that don't. What has helped me with my writing? What hasn't?

When I thought about trying journaling-- about doing one entry everyday for a month, my mind kind of went blank. Then, after I got my barings, my first thought was, "would it be cheating if I wrote them in advance?"

(Yes, yes it would. Duh.)

Me Trying To Outline ★ "The Water Curse"

Hi everybody!
I've decided to try my hand at writing a full length novel outline. (Somehow it came out as high fantasy, and I don't really write high fantasy...)

I'm pretty self conscious about my outlining capabilities, but I'm trying to get better at it. = )

I thought maybe someone might like "The Water Curse", or be able to use it for themselves if I posted it...

It's probably crap.
(If it is, let me know where I screwed up in the comment section... wink).

So, in closing, the following outline is free to use.

Take it, dissect it, change it. Make a book or a story out of it... I hope someone can use it. <3 If nothing else, it might give you some ideas...

Thanks for reading!

Ten Things You Probably Didn't Know About Me...

1. I really love to draw.

I've been drawing off an on all my life. Sometimes I'm good at it, sometimes I'm not. I think my talent in that area depends on how the wind is blowing that day...

2. I don't have a "one thing I'm really scared of".

As a horror author, this is kind of disappointing. I may be a weirdo, but just call it research.

I love to hear people tell me the creepiest things that have ever happened to them. I love it when people explain why some things are scary. But to be truthful, not much really scares me. The only thing really horrifying in this world (to me) are the lengths some people will go to be cruel to each other.

3. Being an airhead changed my life:

A long time ago, someone shared the SCP stories with me (Secure. Contain. Protect.), and told me that they were top secret files that the government didn't want anyone to know about.
